Rob and Sam met in the late 1970’s at a bowling alley in Las Vegas, New Mexico.  Sam was the Owner/Operator of Vegas Bowl, and Rob was a young bowler fresh out of high school.  Rob became a regular, hanging out with the bowling alley crowd and making friends.  When Sam, a talented poet and lyricist, found out that Rob was an accomplished guitar player and songwriter, the two began a life-long mission to create the music they came to love.

Sam has a gifted ability to turn his life experiences into powerful and emotional lyrics, with a story-telling style that is not often found in music – then or now.  Rob found his inner voice, which had been influenced by his favorite artists like James Taylor, Neil Diamond, Simon & Garfunkel, and many others.  His soulful chord progressions and solid vocals began to give life to the lyrics Sam wrote, and the songs that began to pour out were amazing.

They pursued some recording and marketing in the early 1980’s, but with little money to invest and the limited opportunities to break into the industry in those days, the dreams of making it “big” did not materialize.  However, Rob kept playing, practicing, and singing for Church services over the years – keeping his fingers and voice in shape as much as possible.  Around 2004 he discovered the world of digital recording at home.  He purchased a Korg D1600 recording system and learned a whole lot about recording and producing their music.

About 12 years later, Rob began exploring and studying the newer digital recording technologies, using the power of modern computers and software to produce music.  He spent hours studying online videos about how to record, mix and master using the Avid ProTools digital recording software.  He invested in a powerful computer and digital recording equipment, and began to remaster some of the recordings he had done on the Korg machine.  This produced some results that both surprised and motivated him and his old buddy Sam, who also became an eager investor. A new vow was made that all of their songs would be recorded and memorialized in this way.

In the Fall of 2016 Rob founded Gallinas Productions, and began to record and produce all of their music.  The songs posted on this website are the final masters that have been done so far, and more continue to be in progress.  We hope you enjoy this music as much as we do, and please continue to visit and see what might be coming next!
